Justine Smith, MA, LPC

Justine Smith joined the FSC Team in January 2020. She provides counseling services to youth involved in the School Violence Prevention Program at the Galveston County Juvenile Justice Center. Justine is a Licensed Professional Counselor, focusing her work primarily on the adolescent/teenage population. She has over six years of experience working in the mental health field. Justine received her Master’s Degree in Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2012 and her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology at Texas A&M University in 2009.

Justine describes her therapeutic style as person centered with a focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She has advanced training in providing trauma-focused services and spent two and a half years as a certified Forensic Interviewer prior to becoming a Juvenile Therapist with FSC. She is passionate about helping youth who have been set up by their environment to fail; dealing with bullying in schools; and changing the stigma surrounding mental health. 

When she is not working, Justine enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, watching crime documentaries, playing tennis, and online shopping. Fun facts to ask her about include: her current addiction to all things TikTok and the childhood experience that made her decide to become a counselor.
