Karen P. McWhorter, LMSW-IPR

Karen McWhorter joined the FSC Team in November 2013. She is FSC’s Development Director, bringing over 31 years of prevention and family systems experience to FSC. She is a Licensed Master Social Worker with an Independent Practice Recognition designation. Karen obtained a Master’s in Social Work degree from the University of Houston Graduate School of Social Work in 2002 and completed a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Baylor University in 1989. 

Karen values integrity, excellence in service provision, and being a person that will find the hard answers for individuals who have been handed off multiple times. She is passionate about making a difference in the lives of the individuals she serves and has advanced knowledge and expertise regarding family systems, prevention, and grant writing. She believes that relationships are key to maintaining a healthy mindset and strengths-based words/language is essential to our work. 

When she is away from the office, you can find Karen crocheting while watching movies, spending time with family, or at the beach in her Jeep. Fun facts to ask her about are her adventures when she lived on St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands.
